About 18 hours after she first went into labour, Jenny heard a squeak and got very excited, thinking that her first puppy must have arrived.
She quickly sought out the source of the squeak and set about cleaning the new arrival. She held it close to her to keep it warm and encouraged it to start feeding. She took it with her wherever she went. If her horrible owner took it away, she went in search of it and returned it to her nest.
This went on until after she had delivered the third real puppy, after which she no longer noticed when it was removed from her brood.
So here he is, puppy zero:
The cleanest, most cared for squeaky ball ever.
